Plans have been revealed for a new 5,000-seat arena in a busy town centre in Essex.
The plans were announced by Basildon Council leader Gavin Callaghan, and part of the council’s ‘masterplan’ to rejuvenate Basildon town centre.
The arena will host various types of events such as music concerts, sporting events and also include a conference space for business.
The council is working with North American and Chinese firms on the project.
Gavin Callaghan said: “I’ve just announced that we are proposing to bring a 5,000 seater arena to Basildon town centre as part of the masterplan.”
“This will be a venue for conference space for businesses, a venue for music concerts and a venue for sports.
“This will change Basildon forever.”
