Photo of Essex woman killed in hit and run crash released

The first picture of an Essex woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in London has been released by police.

Anisha Vidal-Garner was killed in a collision with a car in Brixton Hill, London at around 9.45pm on Wednesday 19 February.

The car had failed to stop when instructed to by Police and went on to hit Anisha.

The 20-year-old from Epping was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The car was later found abandoned close to the scene of the crash.

A few days later, Quincy Anyiam from Surrey, handed himself in to a South London police station.

The 26-year-old has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, dangerous driving, and causing death by dangerous driving.

Anyiam will be appearing in Croydon Magistrates’ Court this week.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) will also independently investigate the collision due to the Met Police’s involvement in the incident.
