Police have also confirmed that a 17-year-old boy from Chelmsford has also been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Liam was knifed outside the Rose and Crown pub in Writtle on Friday 31 January. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Essex Police have implemented a Section 60 order today in the Melbourne area of Chelmsford in connection with Mr Taylor’s murder.

These powers allow uniformed officers to use stop and search in an attempt to crack down on people carrying dangerous objects and weapons.

“After Liam’s tragic death one week ago, we know there have been rising tensions in some parts of the local community, but we want to reassure you that we are working tirelessly to address this.”

“Anyone in the area with information about individuals who may be carrying a weapon is asked to call us or inform any officers who may be patrolling the area.”
