Lorry fire closes M11 in Essex

The M11 in Essex is closed southbound due to a lorry fire.

The closure is in place between between J8 (A120, Stansted Airport) and J7 (Harlow) due to the lorry fire and fuel spillage across the carriageway.

Essex Fire and Rescue are at the scene and making the area safe.

Motorists have been advised to expect delays and a diversion is in place.

Motorists should follow the hollow square symbol for the diversion, allowing them to get back on to the M11 southbound as follows:

Exit at Junction 8 southbound onto the A120 west to Little Hadham and continue through Little Hadham and Standon to the A120/A10 roundabout.

At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A10 south and continue through Colliers End, High Cross, Thundridge and Ware to the A10/A414 (Harlow) roundabout.

At the A10/A414 roundabout, take the first exit onto the A414 east to Harlow, continue through Harlow and rejoin the M11 at Junction 7.
