McDonald’s reopens four drive-thru sites in Essex

McDonald’s is reopening four of its drive-thru sites in Essex today.

The fast food restaurant aims to resume services at 33 fast-food chains across the South East after they were forced to close due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the company the 33 locations have been chosen as they are nearest to their distribution centres.

The four drive-thru locations are in Chelmsford and they will reopen to the public between 10am to 11pm. This includes the McDonalds at Regiment Business Park, Riverside, Boreham Interchange and Westway, which have all reopened today.

The restaurant will be capping payments at £25 per customer and is encouraging people to make contactless payments in the interest of staff wellbeing.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: “We’re still adjusting to smaller teams, new procedures and social distancing, so please bear with us, things will take a little longer.”
