A man has sadly died following a collision in Maldon.
The incident happened at around 6.25am today (Friday 13 March) on Burnham Road, Woodham Mortimer. The collision involved a black motorbike with a single rider.
The road is closed while Police carry out an investigation of the scene. The road is expected to remain closed for most of the day.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
Essex Police are appealing to anyone who saw a black motorbike in the Danbury area with a rear L plate, or have dash cam footage, to come forward.
A spokesman for the Maldon District police tweeted: “At the scene of a fatal crash in Burnham Road, Woodham Mortimer.”
“The road will be shut for the majority of the day. Our thought are with the victims family.”
