Rail services halted after person hit by train in Essex

A person has been hit by a train near Marks Tey in Essex.

Greater Anglia has suspended all services through the area whilst emergency services deal with the incident.

Replacement bus services have been scheduled and will begin from 4.45pm.

A spokesperson for Greater Anglia said: “A person has been hit by a train between Manningtree and Marks Tey which is causing disruption to journeys between these stations.”

“Services may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 6pm.”

Greater Anglia have confirmed that three buses will be going to Colchester, and three buses will be going to Manningtree.
