Police name two friends killed in Essex crash.

Sergiu Proca and Saulius Jokubauskas were killed in the crash

Two friends who died in a road traffic collision near Colchester have been formally named by Essex Police.

The accident happened in Flag Hill in Great Bentley. Emergency services were called on 12 March at around 11pm to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a van.

Saulius Jokubauskas, who was 48-years-old and from Lithuania, and 22-year-old Sergiu Proca from Romania, where travelling on the motorbike. Both men where pronounced dead at the scene.

They both lived in Basildon and worked for a local Italian restaurant chain.

In an emotional tribute, friend Evgenij Vasin said: “I knew Saulius for over 12 years and he was a real hero and true friend. He loved adventure, sport and travel, he was a real leader. It will be very hard to find someone like him who I can talk about everything with.”

The family of Sergiu said: “We lost our beloved Brother and Son. Sergiu was the embodiment of perfection and of everything which had a positive vibe. He was loving life and just enjoyed every day at its maximum capacity.”

“He will always be in our hearts and souls! It is a big loss for our whole family!”

Following a thorough investigation, Essex Police said: “Mr Jokubauskas and Mr Proca’s deaths are not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
