Her body was found in mid-February on Grays Beach. The woman has been named as Manijah Thomas from Grays.
Police were called after concerns were raised over the 58-year-old’s welfare. Her body was found later on the beach. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A postmortem examination confirmed Manijah died from drowning.
Essex Police have confirmed her death is not treated as suspicious.
Police also found another body of a man on the beach on the same day. However they believe the deaths are not linked.
